After 25 years of designing, building and owning a wide range of boats, the dory is possible our favourite. This versatile style of open boat provides plenty of internal space far exceeding that of any similar sized RIB. In addition to this, the flat bottom design makes launching easy and is also ideal for landing on beaches, something which is often difficult in a traditional style speed boat.
Dories have been around for a long time and their basic design has proven ideal for families and is also popular with commercial users as well. We have supplied the FOX 440 to sailing clubs to be used as rescue boats, and the boat has also become a favourite with harbour masters.
The design for the FOX 440 is a natural evolution from out Flying Fox range which was popular in the 1980s - 1990s. We still get calls from customers every year who have purchased these boats and they tell us how well they are performing 10 years on.
If you are looking for a boat with a large deck area, superbly stable, does not need a large expensive engine, a boat with the minimum of maintenance AND fun to own - THIS IS IT!
We have chosen what we think are the best materials and components for this boat to give you many years of pleasure on the water. Manufactured from marine quality GRP, the hull and deck will not deteriorate in sunlight, which can be a problem with some plastics.
